Uncomfortable Voices
- 02/08/2025, from 10.00 to 18.30
Details
An all-day symposium explores the similarities and differences between the current ‘culture wars’ in Austria, Germany and other European countries. Why is it so easy to marginalise uncomfortable voices? How can cultural institutions deal with the current pressure and what strategies are there for the ‘day after’? How can we repair the damage that has been done to institutions and public discourse?
As part of the symposium, there will also be a first look at the exhibition and festival catalogue. The richly illustrated publication, designed by Grupa Ee, documents the programme of steirischer herbst ʼ24 and contains contributions by Kevin Clarke, Clemens Ruthner, Barbara Seyerl, Heidemarie Uhl and Hans-Peter Weingand.
