A Journey to the Depths of the Soul
When Birgit Minichmayr recites poetry, the Romantic era does not begin with Eichendorff’s ‘Moonlit Night’. Even Goethe’s ‘To the Moon’ she transforms into a journey to the depths of the soul and human longing. Where words carry so far that they give rise to the music of language, it takes the sound poetry of a Schumann to respond to them in notes. The young, award-winning Confringo Piano Quartet makes its Styriarte debut with the infinitely subtle piano quartet by the Romantic composer from Zwickau, flanked by romances by his wife Clara and his friend Mendelssohn.
