for a barrier-free stay in Graz
We have listed for you here which hotels offer wheelchair-accessible rooms, where allergy sufferers can best stay and which overnight accommodations blind people can find their way around most easily. Pdf's with details on the barrier-free conditions of selected hotels, coupled with photo documentation, should make your selection easier. (These companies were tested and certified according to Ö-Norm B1600 for barrier-free construction and expert opinions from the Styrian interest groups.)
Together with the Hartberg self-help group for people with disabilities and experts for barrier-free construction, we looked at selected restaurants in Graz. The details on the barrier-free conditions, including accompanying photos, can be found in the detailed pdf documents.
With the parking permit for people with disabilities according to § 29b StVO, disabled parking spaces in Graz can be used free of charge and without time restrictions. Incidentally, this regulation also applies to the various parking zones in the city. The same applies to people with disabilities who are resident in an EU country outside of Austria and have a parking permit there. All buses in Graz are low-floor buses and are therefore barrier-free. With the trams, care is taken to ensure that, according to the regular timetable, every second tram is a low-floor tram.
There is a tactile guidance system at almost all tram stops. The tram stops in such a way that you can board directly at the driver's door. Most stops have nub panels that people who need help can stand on. In the vehicles, the next stop is announced acoustically and via the screen display.

The Schlossberg is barrier-free accessible. The Schlossberg lift takes you to the clock tower, the Schlossberg Funicular to the casemates and Graz Museum Schlossberg. However, most of the footpaths on the Schlossberg are relatively steep and therefore not recommended.
