Burg Riegersburg

The Riegersburg is considered the largest castle in Styria and is one of the most popular destinations in the country.

Recommended duration of visit: approx.

As an impregnable fortress, it sits enthroned high on the rocks and is not one of the most popular sights in the region for nothing. Thanks to its imposing fortifications and the unique location of the castle, it was already one of the strongest fortresses in the West that was never conquered.

Hardly any other castle is as impressive as the mighty Veste Riegersburg. Seven gates, eleven bastions, four kilometers of defensive walls and two moats protect the castle! There is a lot to discover inside the castle: discover the beautiful state rooms and inner courtyards. Learn a lot of interesting things and let yourself be inspired by the castle, witch and weapon museum. You can experience the museums even more intensively with our audio guides or on tours with our experienced castle guides.
