The newly opened Archduke Johann Museum is dedicated to the life and work of the founder of the Universalmuseum Joanneum. Historical documents and exhibits showcase his influence on Styrian culture, economy, and science, as well as his commitment to Styria. Numerous portraits and original paintings illustrate his life. New areas of Stainz Castle have been renovated and made accessible for the Archduke Johann Museum. The use of modern media and interactive stations turns the museum visit into an exciting experience for the whole family.

Hunting Museum and Agriculture Museum Schloss Stainz

The Hunting Museum Schloss Stainz is Austria’s largest hunting museum and fascinates not only the hunting fraternity. Historic weapons and equipment, splendid works of art, and handicrafts exhibits show how diverse the world of field sports is in our culture. It’s a place to listen, feel and think about aspects of nature – a rich and enjoyable experience!

Agriculture Museum Schloss Stainz: The rural working world and habitats of agricultural and forestry regions are vividly presented in all their diversity in an informative permanent exhibition. It contains historical objects and interactive media stations spanning a broad range of subjects from the pre-industrial age to the challenges of the 21st century.
